Our FOUNDERS’ Shirts have arrived!
Our full names (of Ange & Rob) appear written on the shirt in 4 places! Twice on the front and twice on the back.
It was fun looking for our names and surprisingly, it didn’t take us long to find them.
This is the shirt Auckland FC players will use in the inaugural match on the 19th of October 2024 as a way of saying thank you to all the founding members who have bought season tickets even before the club had played its first ever game.
In theory there are supposed to be 1950 names on the shirt though we noticed that a number of the names had been repeated, including ours! I don’t know if that is because we are members of the Black Knights (best seats in the stadium) or if there weren’t enough people who had ordered the shirt when it went to get printed.
Now our dilema is … do we keep it untouched in it’s original state as a future investment / collectors item … OR … do we wear it to the first every match (like the Auckland FC players) and then store it or display it.
